Made for your opening, not cut down to fit it

Almost every gate we make is one-off. Openings are rarely square, driveways rarely level, and stone walls almost never parallel. A gate ordered from a catalogue and packed out with spacers looks exactly like what it is. One measured, drawn and made for the opening does not.

We make driveway and entrance gates, pedestrian and side gates, sliding and cantilever gates, estate and field gates, balustrades and handrails, garden and boundary railings, and matching railing runs to tie a frontage together.

Traditional or modern

We work in both, and we are equally happy either way.

Traditional means scrolls, collars, twisted bar, spear tops, ball finials and riveted detail — the kind of ironwork that suits a stone Yorkshire property or a period frontage. It is slower to make because the detail is formed rather than bought in, and it is worth it.

Modern means clean lines: flat bar infill, horizontal slat, laser-cut panels, timber-clad steel frames, or plain vertical bar with no ornament at all. Frequently the right answer for a new build or a contemporary extension.

Automation, done safely

We are Gate Safe accredited, and it matters more than most people realise. Automated gates are heavy powered machinery, and badly installed ones have killed people in the UK. Gate Safe exists because of it.

What that means in practice on our installations:

• A documented force and risk assessment on every automated gate
• Safety edges and photocells positioned to eliminate crushing and shearing points
• Correct gate leaf weight matched to correctly rated motors
• Manual release that actually works, and that you are shown how to use
• Handover documentation, so the installation is demonstrably compliant

Underground, ram, articulated arm and sliding gate motors all available, with keypad, intercom, video entry, remote fob and app control.

Finishes

Galvanised then powder coated is what we recommend for anything staying outside, and what most of our gates get. Black remains the most requested colour by a distance, with anthracite grey second. We can match any RAL. Traditional hand-painted finishes are available where a period property calls for it.
