Gates & Railings
Unit 11, Denholme Business Centre, Halifax Road, Denholme, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD13 4EN
Timber clad driveway gates on a steel frame, giving the warmth and privacy of solid timber with a structure that will not drop or warp.
Solid timber gates of this size are heavy, they move with the weather, and they sag over time — the diagonal brace on an all-timber gate is fighting a losing battle. Building the frame in steel and cladding it in timber solves that completely. The steel holds the geometry; the timber does the looking.
Solid infill makes a gate act like a sail, so hinge and post sizing has to account for wind loading on an exposed driveway. Where the gates are automated, the leaf weight has to be matched to a correctly rated motor rather than the nearest one to hand.
