The jobs that do not fit a category

A good proportion of our work is not a staircase, a gate or a balcony. It is whatever a customer needed making that nobody sells.

Recent examples off our own shop floor include tipping skips for plant and site use, batches of wheeled works trolleys with mesh shelves, stainless handrails and access steps for a swimming pool installation, machine guards and frames, bespoke brackets and support steelwork, and replacement parts for machinery long out of production.

How to enquire about a one-off

You do not need a drawing. Most of our bespoke work starts with a photograph and a couple of dimensions, or the broken original sitting on our bench.

What genuinely helps:

• A photo — of the space, the original part, or something similar to what you want
• Rough overall sizes, even approximate
• What it needs to do, and roughly what weight it needs to take
• Where it will live — inside, outside, wet, hot, food environment
• How many you need, if it is more than one

If you have a CAD drawing or a technical spec, better still — send it over and we will quote from it directly.

What we can do in-house

Cutting, folding, rolling, drilling, MIG and TIG welding in mild steel, stainless and aluminium, plus finishing. We work with plate, box section, angle, channel, tube, bar and mesh. For finishing we use hot dip galvanising and powder coating through established local suppliers, and we can arrange laser cutting for patterned and profiled panels.

Small batch work is genuinely welcome. If you need twelve of something identical, that is often a more efficient job for us than a single one-off, and it is priced accordingly.

Repairs and modifications

We also repair. Cracked frames, corroded sections, gates that have dropped, handrails that have been damaged by a vehicle, machinery brackets that have failed. If it is steel and it is broken, it is usually cheaper to bring it to us than to replace it.

Where we work

Our workshop is at Denholme Business Centre on Halifax Road, Bradford. You are welcome to bring work to us, and we deliver and install throughout West Yorkshire and beyond.
