About this handrail
A black steel handrail and railing to a stone entrance step, made to follow the existing stonework rather than sit awkwardly beside it.
Entrance steps on older stone properties are rarely uniform. The rise varies, the treads are worn, and the faces are not parallel. A handrail ordered to a standard size will not follow that, and the mismatch shows from the road. We template the actual steps and make the rail to suit.
Fixing into stone
Fixings go into the stone itself, not into the mortar joints, using resin anchors sized for the load. A handrail is only doing its job if it will take the full weight of somebody who has slipped, and a fixing into a soft joint will not.
