Gates & Railings
Unit 11, Denholme Business Centre, Halifax Road, Denholme, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD13 4EN
A pair of hand-made wrought iron driveway gates with scrollwork, spear tops and a curved head, hung between stone piers.
Traditional ironwork of this kind is slower to make than modern gates because the detail is formed rather than bought in. The scrolls are worked, the collars are fitted, and the whole frame is assembled square before any of the decorative work is added. That is the difference between gates that suit a period stone property and gates that merely sit in front of one.
Stone piers are rarely plumb and driveways are rarely level. We survey the opening, check the fall across the sweep, and set the hinge positions so the gates clear the ground through their full swing rather than grounding halfway open.
