Floating Staircases
Unit 11, Denholme Business Centre, Halifax Road, Denholme, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD13 4EN
A helical steel staircase with open treads and a stainless steel balustrade, curving through a full turn between floors. Helical stairs are among the most demanding things we make: every tread is a different shape, the stringer is rolled rather than cut straight, and there is no margin for a guessed dimension anywhere in the flight.
Everything was set out and fabricated in our Bradford workshop, then brought to site and installed by the same team.
They suit spaces where a straight flight will not fit or would dominate the room — atria, mezzanines, and open-plan conversions. Because the treads radiate from a centre, a helical stair turns through 180 or 360 degrees in a fraction of the run a straight flight needs.
