About this fire escape
An external escape staircase serving a first floor unit, galvanised then powder coated so it reads as part of the building rather than an afterthought bolted onto the side of it.
Where a fire escape is visible from the front of a property or from a customer car park, a powder coated finish over galvanising is worth the small extra cost. You keep the corrosion protection of the zinc and get a colour that can be matched to the cladding, the window frames or the client’s own branding.
Survey first
Every escape stair we quote is surveyed first, at no cost. The difference between the dimension on a drawing and the actual face of the building is exactly where escape stairs go wrong, and it is not something worth discovering on installation day.
