Fire Escapes
Unit 11, Denholme Business Centre, Halifax Road, Denholme, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD13 4EN
A galvanised escape staircase on a green clad industrial unit, with open mesh treads and a straight flight to ground.
Open mesh is specified on external escape stairs for a simple reason: rain drains straight through and ice does not sit on the tread. On a solid tread, standing water freezes overnight and the escape route becomes the most dangerous surface on the site. Mesh, with a grit nosing on the leading edge, is what we recommend for anything outdoors in Yorkshire.
The whole fabrication was hot dip galvanised after welding, so the zinc coating covers the inside of the hollow sections as well as the outside. That is what makes a galvanised stair effectively maintenance free for decades rather than something that needs repainting every few years.
